There are days when you want something warm, nourishing, and a little extra special. This turmeric latte is creamy, soothing, and made with simple ingredients you probably already keep in your kitchen. It is the perfect fall drink; imo it tastes like a snickerdoodle in a cup!
I love that this latte feels both indulgent and functional. The warming spices bring cozy flavor while offering anti-inflammatory support. It's one of those drinks that feels like self-care in a cup, whether you're winding down in the evening or looking for a caffeine-free way to start the day.

Ingredients

- Turmeric Powder: This anti-inflammatory spice is rich in flavor and curcumin. For this benefit, I recommend looking for a powder in the health food section that contains curcumin in a concentrated form. Curcumin is the active compound that has medicinal benefits.
- Coconut Milk: Opt for organic full-fat coconut milk for a rich flavor and texture. The canned version also provides the coconut cream for a whipped topping alternative. The fat in coconut milk improves the body's absorption of the curcumin in turmeric.
- Black Pepper: Just a pinch is needed to increase the bioavailability of curcumin by 2000%!
- Ceylon Cinnamon: I recommend Ceylon cinnamon for its incredible benefits. Known as the "true cinnamon," Ceylon benefits blood sugar and more. Check out our article on how Ceylon cinnamon can reduce acid in coffee!

Variations and Substitutions
- Make an iced turmeric latte! Pour your heated mixture over ice and enjoy!
- Use maple syrup, date syrup, raw honey, or coconut sugar for natural sweetening interchangeably.
- Traditional turmeric latte uses freshly grated turmeric root. You can grate cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric. Be sure to strain your milk before serving.
- Other milk variations work seamlessly with this recipe. Feel free to experiment with almond milk, oat milk, or traditional cow's milk.
How to Make a Golden Milk Latte

Step 1: Scoop a spoonful of coconut cream from the top of a can of coconut milk into a glass bowl.

Step 2: Using a handheld frother, froth the coconut cream until fluffy. If it is dense, consider warming the cream slightly.

Step 3: Pour the can of coconut milk into a saucepan and warm on medium-low heat for 1-2 minutes until it bubbles and steams.

Step 4: Combine your spices, vanilla, and sweetener of choice in the pot and whisk gently until combined.

Step 5: Pour your warm turmeric milk into a mug.

Step 6: Add frothed coconut cream and give a gentle swirl.

Step 7: Garnish with additional cinnamon for a lovely presentation. Enjoy!
Hint: You may want to consider using a fine mesh strainer when pouring into your mug if concerned about clumps from the spices.
Using a separate strainer may also help with sprinkling the cinnamon on at the end for garnish. Although it also works to use your finger and thumb, rubbing back and forth to gently sprinkle the seasoning over your warm turmeric milk.
Expert Tips
*Before frothing the coconut cream, consider slightly warming it for a few brief moments on the stove.
*Be careful, turmeric stains skin, clothing, dishes, and furniture! Using gloves and a paper towel as a cover is very helpful. Be sure to wash or rinse your pots and dishes immediately to avoid staining.
*Pre-make your Golden Milk Latte spice mix so it is ready to go when you want to use it. All you'll need to do is add vanilla and sweetener to the milk if desired, and heat!
